Raymond Ampil works as the US Program Manager of Fondation CHANEL, an international corporate foundation with the mission to create the conditions for women and adolescent girls to be free to shape their own destinies. In his role, he leads on grantmaking and capacity-strengthening for partner organizations in the United States who are working on advancing gender equality through safety and inclusion, economic and social autonomy, and women-led climate resilience. He was born and raised in the Philippines and immigrated to the United States as a teenager with his single mother. He considers himself lucky to have cut his teeth supporting cultural organizing in New York's queer community, which showed that immigrant teen that a better world is possible, but one has to struggle collectively for it. He was also an Americorps member, supporting the infrastructure of local nonprofits and public schools to facilitate adult, teen, and children's education programming.
